Located in a small coastal town in Santander, the Somo House is situated in an exceptional natural landscape just a few meters from the Cantabrian Sea. The house boasts a wide variety of spaces, each with a specific function, and the design of each space has been carefully considered to achieve a sense of continuity and harmony. With a total surface area of around 500m2 spread across two floors and a spacious garden that surrounds it, the project focuses on the creation of an open ground floor with flexible use and a direct connection between the interior and exterior.
The choice of materials focuses on simplicity and elegance, with natural wood, iron, and stone being the predominant elements, combined with decorative details in soft colors and textures to add personality and character. Special attention has been paid to natural lighting, utilizing large windows to maximize natural light entry, and indirect lamps and spotlights have been used to create a warm, relaxing, and cozy atmosphere. The upper floor houses the bedrooms and the master suite, connected to each other by an ideal transition space for working or reading. This unique design allows for easy access and communication between spaces, enabling families and friends to enjoy each other’s company while preparing food or watching a movie on the sofa.
