SA TUNA is a vacation home project whose name refers to a beautiful beach just 2 minutes away from the property. Based on the traditional ‘masía,’ a typical Catalan regional construction, SA TUNA was built in 1869 and has undergone interventions and modifications over the years.
The main intervention, a century after its construction, consisted of expanding annexed volumes to the original house, adding a spacious living room on each floor and leaving a garden outside the masía. The project aims to merge these pre-existing elements while seeking and consolidating a common language between them through the warmth of natural materials.
SA TUNA is an example of the value of the existing and the relationship between tradition and modern design, providing a personal language that shapes the future of the house.
